We've been hard at work on some big features for PCO Giving, but we've also been listening to your feedback about improving some existing parts of the application. So, here's a roundup of improvements we've made in the past few weeks:

New "Received Date" Field

Often, the date a donation was received is different than the date it was counted. We've added this new field to account for that. You can set this each time you count a donation or you can set it as a "Speedy Setting" on the batch.

The Received Date determines when the donation should actually appear on a donor's statement and in the dashboard.

Improved "Donation Details" View

This view has received a bunch of updates in the past few weeks:

  1. In Giving, stamps represent different types of system information about a donation. These have been expanded so that every single donation has a "status" stamp – pending, succeeded, failed, or refunded. On this page, we've highlighted the status at the top and given it an appropriate color so you can see this critical information quickly. You'll also find these status stamps on the donations view:

  2. In case you missed it, we added an Admin Notes feature.

  3. We've moved all of the relevant dates to the top so it's easier to see the complete lifecycle of the donation – when it was received, counted, and when it reached its ultimate state (succeeded, failed, or refunded).

  4. General ledger fund codes can now be appended to fund names. They've also been included in the CSV exports. GL codes are totally optional, so if you don't use these, just skip them.

  5. Adjustment logs should be a little more readable to humans now. Not all of them, but many of them. Over in the system-wide logs, we've tried to create links to the relevant people, batches, deposits, donations, etc.

Refunds, Processing Fees, & Net Amounts Added to CSV Exports

This was a popular request. In the CSV exports we've added three new columns: refund amount, processing fees, and net donation amount. We also added the fund GL code to the export:

Expanded Date Format Support

If you like seeing your dates as dd/mm/yyyy instead of mm/dd/yyyy, you can set this preference in Accounts. There were a few places where Giving wasn't respecting this setting though! That's fixed now.

Okay, that's it for now!
