It’s here! Text-to-Give has landed in Planning Center Giving. All your donors need is a smart phone, a payment method, and couple minutes to get set up. Sign up is lightning fast whether they’re a brand new donor or a longtime giver. Standard Message & Data Rates May Apply.
Easy to set up
Text AMOUNT to 84321 to give.
(Standard message & data rates may apply)
Those are the only instructions your donors need! If they’ve never set up Text-to-Give, they’ll be prompted to add a payment method. If it’s also their first time donating, a new donor account will be set up for them automatically. Essentially, Text-to-Give needs three elements:
During set up, the system will use the donor’s geographical location and phone number to suggest churches nearby who use Planning Center Giving and have the Text-to-Give add-on enabled. If they ever move to a new church that happens to use PCO Giving, it’s easy to disconnect their phone from their current donor profile by logging in to the donor interface online or by simply sending the common “STOP” keyword.
To give to a specific fund, donors can specify it like so:
$10 missions or
$20 youth. For longer fund names, keywords can be established to make text message donations more convenient. To get a list of available funds or get help, the Text-to-Give system will respond to the “HELP” keyword.
Tracking Text-to-Give donations
On administrative side of Giving, donations initiated by text message will get an “SMS” stamp so you can filter and report on these types of donations. Really, Text-to-Give donations are another way to give using a credit, debit, or ACH bank account. For regular donors, it’s simply a faster way to do it!
